Roman Z. Morawski, Ph.D., D.Sc., Professor of Measurement Science at the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, Institute of Radioelectronics and Multimedia Technology, has forty-year research experience in the field of measurement data modelling and processing, including the development and implementation of algorithms for processing data from various kinds of spectrometric, optoelectronic, acoustic and microwave sensors. The record of his achievements in this respect comprises more than 200 research publications and 14 international patents (US, Canada, 6 UE countries).

Prof. Morawski has also considerable experience related to industrial research and development, comprising: the development of efficient algorithms for seismic signal processing applied in petroleum industry (Shell Company, Holland 1987); the development of key algorithmic solutions dedicated to data processing applicable in optical performance monitoring of telecommunication channels (Bookham Technology, plc. UK 2001); the development and implementation of key algorithmic solutions dedicated to spectrometric data processing with applications in analytical spectrophotometry and optical performance monitoring of telecommunication channels (Measurement Microsystems, Inc., Canada 1998–2008).
