Abstract
A mobile application implementing the functionality of a programmable metronome, dedicated to the Android operating system, has been developed. It provides its user with a graphical interface for designing sequences of musical bars characterized by different meters, tempos and accentuation schemes, and playing back metronome sounds corresponding to those sequences. It also allows for visualizing the playback in real time with a dedicated widget. The application has been developed using Kotlin programming language and Android Studio software. It has been tested by recording the audio signals generated by its means and using the Audacity software to measure the temporal distances between the sound impulses. The results of the conducted experiments have indicated that the application correctly realizes its assumed functionality.
